Juvenile Seriously Injured in ATV vs. Vehicle Crash in Turner

A juvenile was flown to Maine Medical Center following a crash involving an ATV and a passenger vehicle on Fern Street in Turner Wednesday morning.

The juvenile sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.

Preliminary Investigation

The Androscoggin County Regional Communications Center received a report of the crash at approximately 11:26 a.m. Deputies and members of Turner Fire-Rescue responded to the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, Bolduc was traveling eastbound on Fern Street near the Maine Department of Transportation garage when the ATV entered the roadway from a nearby trailhead.

Investigators said it appears the ATV entered the roadway in front of the Kia, and Bolduc was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Juvenile Flown to Hospital

The ATV was operated by a juvenile female whose name is being withheld due to her age.

The juvenile sustained injuries to her leg and head and was transported by LifeFlight of Maine to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Bolduc was not injured.

Investigation Continues

The crash remains under investigation.

A crash reconstruction was conducted by an officer from the Lewiston Police Department. Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service also assisted at the scene.

No further information is being released at this time.
