ATV Rider Injured on Turbine Trail at Jericho Mountain State Park

BERLIN, N.H. — On Saturday at approximately 2:30 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were notified of an ATV crash with injury at the Turbine Trail/Brook Road junction in Jericho Mountain State Park. Berlin Police and Berlin Fire & EMS also responded.
According to witness statements, Nicole Avila, 44, of West Wareham, Mass., was riding behind her husband when, as he slowed approaching the junction, she failed to brake and struck his machine. Avila was ejected and sustained injuries.
Berlin Fire Rescue transported Avila from the scene by UTV to an awaiting ambulance. She was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A Conservation Officer is continuing the investigation.
NH Fish and Game reminds riders to follow posted speed limits, wear appropriate gear, and maintain safe spacing to avoid collisions.
