Center Ossipee Crews Contain Dore Street House Fire in 20 Minutes; No Injuries

A first-alarm house fire on Dore Street was brought under control in 20 minutes Saturday afternoon after Center Ossipee Fire Department and mutual aid companies mounted an aggressive interior attack.


COFD was dispatched at 1:59 p.m. on September 20 following a building fire report. A second caller and confirmation from Green Mountain Fire Tower triggered a first alarm. Squad 1 responded immediately under Lt. Martino, with Tanker 5, Ambulance 1, and Utility 1 also responding. Chief Dana Cullen Jr. (Car 1) assumed incident command upon arrival.


First-arriving companies confirmed a working residential structure fire with heavy fire showing and a fully involved automobile. Mutual aid on the first alarm included West Ossipee Tower 3, Ossipee Corner Engine 3, Wolfeboro Truck 5 for the rapid intervention team, and an additional engine from Tuftonboro. Freedom Engine 7 covered Center Ossipee station and handled a medical call during the incident. Action Ambulance responded with a rehab unit and an ambulance.


The fire was declared under control in 20 minutes. The cause remains under investigation and is considered unintentional. No injuries were reported.
