GREENLAND, N.H. — A Rhode Island man was arrested early Sunday after fleeing on foot from a single-vehicle rollover crash within an active construction zone on Interstate 95 northbound in Greenland, according to New Hampshire State Police.

At 12:52 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to a report of a crash on I-95 northbound near mile marker 10.8. Responding units found a white 2018 Range Rover Velar unoccupied in the center median.

The preliminary investigation determined the Range Rover had been traveling northbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the driver lost control, crossed the center median, rolled into the southbound lanes, and ultimately came to rest back in the median. Following the crash, the driver fled on foot into the wooded area on the southbound side of the interstate.

To locate the driver, the State Police K-9 Unit and the Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) were requested. At 1:53 a.m., those units located a man walking along a utility access road adjacent to I-95. Troopers took him into custody and identified him as Oliver Denelle, 26, of Narragansett, Rhode Island.

According to State Police, Denelle was arrested on the following charges: reckless conduct, reckless operation, conduct after an accident, resisting arrest, and operating without a valid license. He was held on preventive detention at the Rockingham County Jail pending an arraignment in Portsmouth District Court scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.

The crash response required a lane closure for approximately 30 minutes while the vehicle was removed. State Police said Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Greenland Police Department, Greenland Fire Department, North Hampton Police Department, Newington Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact Trooper Patrick Vetter at Patrick.R.Vetter@dos.nh.gov.

No additional details were released.
