A Manchester man was taken into custody Sunday evening after a State Trooper’s attempted stop for speeding on I-93 northbound in Ashland led to a pursuit that continued through multiple exits and ended off White Mountain Drive in Campton.
At 6:17 p.m., a Trooper assigned to the Troop F barracks attempted to stop a silver 2012 Subaru Legacy on I-93 northbound in Ashland. The driver did not stop and continued to Exit 25 in Holderness, failed to negotiate the off-ramp, and drove into the grass between the interstate and the off-ramp. He then drove through the grass onto the on-ramp and re-entered the interstate with front-end damage.
A second Trooper attempted to intercept as the driver took Exit 27 in Campton. The driver continued onto White Mountain Drive and stopped at the closed gate to the White Mountain National Forest Headquarters. He then fled on foot while his passenger and dog remained. The Trooper pursued and took the driver into custody shortly after.
The driver was identified as Devon Knight Sanville, 22, of Manchester. Sanville was arrested on charges of felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest/detention, driving after revocation or suspension, reckless operation, speeding over 25+ mph over 70 limit, and misuse of plates. He was held on preventive detention at the Grafton County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Plymouth District Court on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper David Carlson at (603) 846-3333.
