A 20-year-old Massachusetts man was taken into custody hours after a pre-dawn pursuit that began in Lowell and continued into New Hampshire, where Troopers used a tire deflation device before the suspect fled on foot and was later located near the crash scene.

Just before 4 a.m., New Hampshire State Police were notified that Lowell Police were pursuing a 2006 Ford Escape northbound on Route 3. The driver, identified as Dominick Howard, 20, of East Wareham, Massachusetts, had an active felony warrant in Massachusetts. As the vehicle crossed into New Hampshire, Troopers took over near Exit 6 on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua. Howard continued northbound, reaching speeds of 100 mph.

In the area of mile marker 9.8, Troopers deployed a tire deflation device. The Escape continued before losing a tire and leaving the roadway near mile marker 12.2 in Merrimack. Troopers took three passengers into custody; Howard fled into a nearby wooded area. An immediate search did not locate him. Around 9 a.m., Howard was seen back near the crash scene and was taken into custody with assistance from Merrimack Police.

Howard is charged with disobeying a police officer, reckless conduct, resisting arrest, reckless operation, and as a fugitive from justice. Two passengers were released without charges; a juvenile passenger is charged with resisting arrest. No booking photo is available at this time. Howard is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on October 1, 2025, at 10 a.m.
