Driver uninjured after SUV ends up in Horn Pond in Acton

ACTON, Maine — Around noon yesterday, York County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in Horn Pond off New Bridge Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver, Chayce Steffiare, 30, of Sanbornville, N.H., was operating a 2025 Ford Explorer when an unknown oncoming vehicle forced him off the roadway. Steffiare swerved, left the road, and the SUV entered Horn Pond, coming to rest approximately 20 feet from shore.
Steffiare was not injured and did not require transport to the hospital.
No additional information was released.
