New Hampshire Fish and Game reported four separate ATV/OHRV crashes over the weekend in Coös and Carroll counties, including a fatal crash in Sandwich and three incidents that resulted in injuries in Millsfield, Alton, and Clarksville.

In Millsfield, on Saturday, September 20, at about 5:20 p.m., Maria Del Carmen Soto Quinones, 43, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, lost control while riding south on Railroad Spur Road–A Trail. Her ATV entered a ditch, traveled about 20 yards, struck a small embankment and trees, and rolled onto its side, ejecting her. She was riding in a group of 11 and was wearing a helmet and eyewear. She was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for evaluation. The ATV had minimal damage. The investigation is ongoing; inattention to the trail is believed to be the main contributing factor.

In Alton, on Sunday, September 21, at 10:30 p.m., Charles Hooper Jr., 39, of Wolfeboro, flipped a UTV on private property. Three passengers were ejected. Justin Page, 24, of Middleton, was transported by ambulance to Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro for minor injuries; Jordan Henderson, 25, of Farmington, and Athena Coleman, 24, of Barrington, were uninjured. None of the occupants were wearing safety equipment. Speed and reckless operation appear to be contributing factors.

In Clarksville, on Sunday, September 21, at about 6:15 p.m., responders were called to a crash in a driveway on West Road. The operator, identified as Tylor Rancloes, 30, of Clarksville, struck a parked vehicle, was ejected, and suffered injuries. Bystanders and family rendered aid before emergency crews arrived. The crash remains under investigation; speed is believed to be the primary contributing factor.

In Sandwich, shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, an ATV crash on the power lines near Foss Flats Road resulted in the death of a 47-year-old man from Nashua. The victim was assessed on scene and was found to have sustained a fatal injury. The name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Officials remind riders to use helmets and proper safety gear and to operate cautiously within their capabilities, especially in current trail conditions.
