CLINTON, Maine — Clinton Police say they located a man sought for questioning in connection with the November 25 fatal crash on Interstate 95.
According to the department, at about 12:00 p.m. Thursday a caller — identified as Lt. Steve Trahan of the Maine Capitol Police — reported seeing a male matching the description of the individual near Hill Road by Horseback Road. Clinton officers responded with four personnel and searched the area for roughly two hours but did not find him.
At around 2:00 p.m., police received a second report of a male walking southbound on I-95. Chief Bell was already checking the interstate and, with Officer Wentworth, soon located and safely detained the individual without incident.
Police said the man matched the previously distributed description, including visible facial injuries consistent with those reported at the original crash scene. The Maine State Police (MSP) were notified, and a State Police corporal responded.
Clinton Fire & Rescue transported the man to a local hospital for medical evaluation, with a Clinton Police officer accompanying EMS. The investigation at the hospital was turned over to the Maine State Police.
Clinton Police thanked the reporting parties and community members for remaining observant and assisting in the effort.
