Fireground Operations and Timeline
Fire officials said Old Orchard Truck 71 and Car 1 responded, along with automatic aid from Saco and Scarborough. The department said Old Orchard Engine 73 and Car 2 were already operating at a structure fire in Biddeford, but were able to clear and return to Old Orchard Beach to assist.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported encountering a heavy volume of smoke from a 20 ft. by 20 ft. single-story structure, with heavy fire inside the building. Crews initiated a fire attack and conducted a primary search to confirm occupants were safely evacuated, officials said.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 11:10 a.m., and the scene was declared clear at 12:23 p.m., according to the department.
