A Manchester man died Monday afternoon after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 293 southbound near Exit 6, prompting lane closures during the investigation.

At 2:24 p.m., State Troopers from the Troop B barracks responded to the crash area. The preliminary investigation determined that Matthew R. Alosa, 59, of Manchester, was traveling south on a black 2009 Harley-Davidson when he did not negotiate a left turn and lost control. The motorcycle left the roadway to the right and entered a wooded area, where it came to a stop.

Alosa was pronounced deceased at the scene by members of the Manchester Fire Department.

During the investigation, the right lane of I-293 southbound and the on-ramp from Eddy Road to I-293 southbound were shut down; both reopened just before 5:30 p.m. Troopers were assisted by the Manchester police and fire departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Parker Bell at (603) 223-4381 or Parker.R.Bell@dos.nh.gov.
