NH State Trooper Stops Wrong-Way Driver on I-293 in Bedford

A New Hampshire State Trooper stopped a wrong-way vehicle on I-293 in Bedford early Saturday, leading to the arrest of a Vermont man.
Just before 1 a.m., Trooper Madelynn Theve, of Troop B, was traveling northbound on I-293 when she observed a vehicle heading southbound in the northbound lanes. She activated her emergency lights, and the driver stopped near mile marker 3.2. He was taken into custody and identified as Benjamin Mueller, 36, of White River Junction, Vermont.
Mueller is charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and reckless driving. He is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on November 4, 2025. No injuries were reported.
