New Hampshire State Police say an electric bicycle rider died after a collision with an SUV on the I-93 southbound Exit 14 offramp in Concord just before 9 p.m. Monday.
According to the release, the rider, identified as Keerati Nakklee of Concord, was transported to Concord Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation determined Nakklee attempted to cross the interstate at the top of the Exit 14 offramp when a Hyundai Tucson merged onto the ramp and collided with the e-bike.
No other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported. The Exit 14 offramp remained closed during the investigation. At this time, it is unknown why Nakklee was on the interstate. The release notes that e-bikes are not subject to vehicle registration, licensing, or insurance requirements and cannot be legally operated on an interstate in New Hampshire.
Anyone with dash-camera video or information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Kevin Barry at (603) 223-4381.
