Portland Police announced an expansion of Community Policing Offices to improve access, visibility, and collaboration with residents, businesses, and community groups across the city.
The Midtown Community Policing Office continues at 26 Portland Street, with a new location at 443 Congress Street serving Monument Square; the Community Policing Coordinator will split time between these two sites. An additional office at 80 Elm Street now serves as the base for both the East Deering and West Deering Community Policing Coordinators. The former East Bayside Office at 81 Oxford Street has been renamed the East End Community Policing Office and will cover East Bayside and Munjoy Hill.
According to the department, the expansion is aimed at building trust, improving accessibility, and providing more direct support to neighborhood concerns. Community Policing Offices function as resource hubs where residents can connect with officers and coordinators, share concerns, seek guidance, and collaborate on problem-solving initiatives. The department also listed contact details for Community Policing Coordinators and officers for the East End (81 Oxford St.), Midtown (26 Portland St./443 Congress St.), West End (950 Congress St./166 Brackett St.), Parkside (510 Cumberland Ave.), East Deering (80 Elm St.), and West Deering (80 Elm St.).
