Rindge Police: One Deceased, One Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119

RINDGE, N.H. — The Rindge Police Department reports that a two-vehicle collision on Route 119 near Wellington Road has resulted in one fatality and one serious injury.
According to police, the crash occurred Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:46 p.m. The vehicles involved were a white 2021 Jeep Gladiator operated by Maria Lourdes Gray, 71, of Rindge, and a silver 2018 Toyota RAV4 operated by Deborah Melanson, 77, of Fitchburg, Mass.
Officials said Gray succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at UMass Memorial – Worcester yesterday evening. Melanson remains hospitalized at UMass Memorial – Worcester with serious injuries; her condition has been upgraded to stable.
The initial investigation determined Melanson was traveling westbound on Route 119, a posted 55 mph zone, when Gray pulled out onto Route 119 from Converseville Road. The front of Melanson’s Toyota struck the driver’s side of Gray’s Jeep. The Jeep overturned, and the Toyota traveled over an embankment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Gray was initially unresponsive and required extrication. A dog in Gray’s vehicle survived with no apparent injuries and was released to an emergency contact. Both drivers were transported to UMass Memorial – Worcester by medical helicopter. Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Gauthier’s Auto Service to Cliff’s Auto Body & Repair, both of Jaffrey.
Route 119 was closed to through traffic for almost two hours.
Rindge units were assisted on scene by Jaffrey Police, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department, Jaffrey Fire and Rescue, Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, Winchendon Fire and Rescue, Ashby Fire, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
Police state the crash remains under investigation. No additional information will be released until the conclusion of the investigation.
