Update: Driver Identified in Ashland I-93 Fatal Crash; Location Correction Issued

October 15, 2025 — by Scanner Alerts Media

ASHLAND, N.H. — The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the driver found deceased in the October 12 Interstate 93 crash in Ashland as Ryan C. Berg, 21, of Bristol. The cause of death was determined to be smoke inhalation and thermal injury. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.

This update also corrects a location detail from the initial information. The vehicle was located one mile north of Exit 24, not south, as was incorrectly stated in the original text. Our earlier article reflected the earlier “south of Exit 24” location; this story updates the record to note the north of Exit 24 location per the latest information.

Initial release recap (October 12, 2025):

At approximately 2:44 a.m. on Sunday, State Police dispatch received a report of a vehicle on fire along the wood line about one mile from Exit 24 on I-93. Troopers from Troop F responded and found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. A preliminary on-scene investigation determined that the driver of a 2023 Nissan Sentra had been traveling southbound on I-93 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, crashed, and caught fire. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Ashland Fire Department and Plymouth Fire & Rescue.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Jawara Conde at (603) 451-9555 or Jawara.G.Conde@dos.nh.gov.
