Wiscasset Police Arrest 19-Year-Old in Two Downtown Break-Ins; Multiple Charges Filed

WISCASSET, Maine — The Wiscasset Police Department has arrested a local 19-year-old following investigations into two separate incidents reported this week in the downtown area.
Police said the first incident occurred Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025, when officers responded to Water Street Kitchen & Bar for a reported burglary. A rear window had been broken to gain entry, and liquor along with a small amount of petty cash were taken.
On Wednesday evening, November 19, 2025, officers responded to a residence on Lincoln Street for a reported armed burglary, robbery, and assault. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Brunswick Police Department K-9 Unit assisted at the scene. A search of the area did not locate a suspect at that time.
Investigators continued working both cases through Wednesday night and throughout Thursday, November 20, 2025. Based on a suspect description and evidence from the scenes, police said they identified a single suspect in both crimes.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. Thursday, the Wiscasset Police Department, assisted by the Maine State Police, conducted a bail check at 226 Old Sheepscot Road. Evidence related to both investigations was discovered, the residence was secured, and a search warrant was obtained. In the early morning hours of November 21, 2025, officers executed the warrant and collected additional evidence.
Luke Stinson-Freeman, 19, of Wiscasset, was taken into custody without incident, transported to the Wiscasset Police Department for further investigation, and later taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.

Police credited the quick resolution to coordinated efforts with the Maine State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Brunswick Police Department K-9 Unit.
