Wrong-Way Driver Arrested After Crash on Interstate 95

Portsmouth, New Hampshire
A Hampton woman was arrested early Saturday after New Hampshire State Police say she drove the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth and crashed into a concrete barrier.
State Police said dispatch began receiving 911 calls at 1:25 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, reporting a wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes on I-95 in Portsmouth.
Troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded and located a black 2023 BMW 3 Series that had crashed into a concrete barrier in the right breakdown lane of I-95 northbound, according to police.
The driver was identified as Jenna Jerrett, 40, of Hampton. State Police said troopers determined Jerrett displayed signs of impairment. She was arrested and charged with:
Felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon
Aggravated driving under the influence of liquor (misdemeanor)
Reckless operation (violation-level)
Police said Jerrett was held on preventive detention at the Rockingham County Jail, pending an arraignment scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, in Portsmouth District Court.
Troopers were assisted by the Portsmouth Fire Department.
