19-Year-Old Driver Dies After Crash on Falmouth Spur

A 19-year-old Connecticut woman died Saturday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash on the Falmouth Spur, according to Maine State Police.
Maine State Police said troopers responded at approximately 1:57 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, to a report of a motor vehicle crash on the Falmouth Spur eastbound near the on-ramp to I-295 north in Falmouth. The initial report indicated a car had gone off the roadway and struck the guardrail.
Troopers, along with Falmouth Fire and Rescue, arrived to find the driver of a white 2013 Subaru Impreza trapped inside the vehicle. Police identified the driver as Joamaliz Orozco, 19, of East Hartford, Connecticut. Orozco was transported to Maine Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
Maine State Police said weather and road conditions are believed to be the primary cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Falmouth Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene, along with the Maine Department of Transportation and Stewart’s Towing.
