BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and Biddeford Police Department report the arrest of Brandon Gelsomini, 28, of Biddeford, on aggravated drug trafficking charges following a search of an encampment adjacent to the railroad tracks along James Street. Gelsomini is also charged with Violation of Bail Conditions.

According to the release, MDEA and Biddeford Police spent the last two months investigating community reports of illicit drug sales in the area. Investigators identified Gelsomini as the primary trafficker and obtained a judicial search warrant for his tent. Because of the proximity to Biddeford High School, the warrant was served early this morning, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m.

During the operation, MDEA agents, Biddeford Police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (USDEA), and the York County Sheriff’s Department executed the search warrant. Gelsomini was present and taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant.

A search of the tent resulted in the seizure of:

120 grams of fentanyl

21 grams of cocaine hydrochloride (powder)

5 grams of cocaine base (crack)

a loaded shotgun

approximately $7,000 in suspected drug proceeds

Officials estimate the street value of the seized drugs at $14,000. Based on the items recovered and the location, Gelsomini is charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs — Class A (School Zone, Firearm) and Violation of Bail Conditions. He was transported to the York County Jail and is being held without bail pending a court appearance on October 31, 2025. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.

Assisting agencies during the warrant service included the Saco Police Department, Old Orchard Beach Police Department, Biddeford Fire Department, and Biddeford Code Enforcement.

Authorities added resource information: individuals seeking help for substance use disorder can call 211 or text a ZIP code to 898-211 for local services.
