MERRIMACK, N.H. — An overnight box truck fire on Joppa Road was quickly contained by Merrimack Fire Rescue, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby vehicles and outbuildings. No injuries were reported.

According to the department, at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2026, Merrimack Fire Rescue dispatched Engine 1, Engine 2, Truck 1, and Ambulance 1 to a reported vehicle fire in the driveway of 17 Joppa Road. While approaching the rotary at Baboosic Lake Road and Turkey Hill Road, Engine 1 could see active fire through and above the trees.

On arrival, crews found a box truck fully involved with exposures to multiple vehicles and outbuildings, and in close proximity to an occupied structure. Firefighters deployed lines and executed a rapid knockdown to protect the exposures and stop lateral spread in the driveway area. Command reported that the coordinated actions of the first-alarm companies contained and ultimately extinguished the fire before it could extend further.
Officials report the incident resulted in significant fire damage to the box truck and moderate damage to two other vehicles, a trailer, an outbuilding, and a wood shed. There were no injuries to civilians or responders.
