A traffic enforcement initiative on I-95 in Hampton Falls and Hampton led to 36 observed violations in three hours, including a 119 mph stop and an arrest on multiple charges.
Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit and the Troop A barracks conducted the operation on I-95 northbound. State Police aircraft observed 36 motor vehicle violations; 20 drivers were seen traveling 90 mph or faster.
At about 7:19 a.m., a Trooper in the aircraft clocked a northbound vehicle multiple times, with a high speed of 119 mph, and relayed its location to Trooper Lauren Hervieux. Trooper Hervieux stopped the vehicle and, after a roadside investigation, arrested Jason K. Harvey, 48, of Hampden, Maine. Harvey is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (30 mph or greater over the speed limit), driving under the influence (third offense), driving with an alcohol concentration of 0.08% or greater, reckless operation, and open container. He is scheduled to appear in the Hampton District Division on Friday, October 31, 2025, and was held in protective custody at the Rockingham County House of Corrections.
According to the release, the current penalty for driving recklessly at 100 mph or faster carries a minimum fine of $620 and a 60-day license loss. Effective January 1, 2026, the penalty for driving recklessly at 100 mph or faster will carry a minimum fine of $930 and a 90-day license loss for a first offense.
Troopers urged motorists to slow down, eliminate distractions, and focus on driving. State Police will continue working with the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety on focused enforcement to reduce speeds, detect impaired driving, and prevent serious crashes.
