MANCHESTER, N.H. – A Massachusetts man was arrested on multiple charges after a pursuit that began on Route 101 and ended on a dead-end street in Manchester early Tuesday.

At 1:21 a.m., State Troopers from the Troop B barracks were advised that Epping Police had briefly pursued a silver 2026 Chevrolet Silverado that fled westbound on Route 101. Shortly after, Candia Police observed the same truck traveling 105 mph.

Trooper Brian Knell located the Silverado as it entered Interstate 93 southbound in Manchester, caught up to it near Exit 1 on I-293 northbound, and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The truck exited at Exit 4 onto Arnold Street, a dead end. While attempting to evade arrest after turning around, the driver struck a State Police cruiser operated by Trooper Bryan Taylor and then collided with two additional parked vehicles. The driver and a passenger fled on foot in opposite directions.

Manchester Police arrived with a drone and observed the driver running south near Hill Street. Manchester officers located and took the driver into custody. He was identified as Alejandro Vargas, 27, of Lowell, Massachusetts. The passenger was not located.

Investigators determined Vargas had an outstanding arrest warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service. He was additionally charged with felony reckless conduct – deadly weapon; and misdemeanor charges of disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, simple assault, and conduct after an accident, along with several violations. Vargas is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections and is scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester District Court on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025. No booking photo is available at this time.

Agencies involved included the Epping Police Department, Candia Police Department, New Hampshire State Police (Troop B), and the Manchester Police Department.
