BELMONT, N.H. — A Belmont man was cited after a collision involving a City of Laconia police cruiser on Saturday night in Belmont, according to New Hampshire State Police.
At 8:05 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, State Police dispatch received a report of a crash at the intersection of Old Prescott Hill Road and Laconia Road. Troopers from Troop E responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
The preliminary on-scene investigation determined that the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado struck a Laconia Police Department cruiser that was blocking the roadway with its emergency lights activated while officers worked an unrelated crash. The Laconia officer, who was assisting the Belmont Police Department at that unrelated scene, was outside the cruiser at the time of impact. No injuries were reported.
State Police identified the driver of the Chevrolet as Christopher Truett, 37, of Belmont. According to the release, Truett was cited for the following offenses: negligent driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, inspection, and obedience to a police officer.
As responders worked, the roadway at the intersection was closed for approximately 30 minutes. Both the police cruiser and the Chevrolet were towed from the scene following the initial assessment and documentation by troopers.
Investigators are seeking additional information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has relevant dash-camera footage from the area of Old Prescott Hill Road and Laconia Road around the time of the incident.
