Fatal E-Scooter Crash in Hampton; Police Seek Video and Tips

HAMPTON, N.H. — The Hampton Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving an e-scooter that occurred early Saturday morning near Ashworth Avenue and G Street.


According to a police release, a 911 call was received at approximately 12:54 a.m. reporting a person down in the area. Responding Hampton Police units located a male who was unconscious and not breathing. Based on the initial scene assessment, the male appeared to have been involved in an accident with his e-scooter.



Hampton Fire and Rescue arrived a short time later. The male was declared deceased at the scene. No additional details regarding the sequence of events were released.


Police said this remains an active investigation. Because of that status, only limited information is being made public at this time. The name of the victim will be released at a later time after notification of next of kin.



Investigators are asking residents and businesses to review any available security camera footage that may have captured the area around Ashworth Avenue and G Street around the time of the incident. Officials are specifically seeking any video that could show the roadway, sidewalks, or nearby activity shortly before or after the 12:54 a.m. call.
