PELHAM, N.H. — A 19-year-old Pelham man died Thursday night following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Mammoth Road.
At approximately 9:08 p.m., Pelham Police and Pelham Fire responded to the area of 497 Mammoth Road for a report of a crash with the driver entrapped and unresponsive. First responders arrived to find a red 2019 Volkswagen Jetta with heavy rollover damage after striking a utility pole. The lone occupant was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
According to police, speed appears to be a contributing factor. The investigation remains ongoing.
As part of the response and investigation, Mammoth Road was closed between Bush Hill Road and Tenney Road for an extended period. Liberty Utilities remotely cut power to the area to allow safe access for first responders, then further isolated the outage and remained on scene to make repairs.
Agencies assisting include the Hudson Police Department, the State Medical Examiner’s Office, and members of the Pelham Police Department.
