The FBI’s Boston Division says it arrested 404 people over the past three months as part of “Operation Summer Heat,” a nationwide push to crack down on violent crime. The division—which covers Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island—ranked third among all FBI field offices for total arrests during the initiative.

“Operation Summer Heat is a snapshot of what our agents, task force officers, and analysts do daily to target, apprehend, and bring to justice the most dangerous, violent criminals,” said Special Agent in Charge Ted E. Docks, crediting strong partnerships with state and local agencies. “While summer is behind us, your FBI is not letting up.”

Between June 24 and September 20, all FBI field offices joined the multi-pronged operation, which focused on executing federal warrants, dismantling violent gangs, locating child victims, and resolving violent crime cases in Indian Country.
