FALMOUTH, Maine — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a residential fire that occurred Monday, November 17, 2025, on Red Oak Drive in Falmouth.
According to officials, the Falmouth Fire Department requested the Fire Marshal’s Office to the scene. Crews arrived at approximately 4:11 p.m. to find the home fully involved. No occupants were inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Fire Marshal investigators spoke with individuals who had been staying at the residence. Those individuals reported that an accidental fire had occurred earlier in the day while an electric space heater was in use and that a couch ignited. They told investigators they believed the initial fire had been extinguished. It appears the fire later rekindled after they left the residence.
Due to the extent of the damage, officials have classified the fire as undetermined at this time. The investigation remains ongoing. No further information is available.
