FMO Investigating Fire at Greenville Masonic Hall

GREENVILLE, Maine — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) is investigating an early-morning fire at the Greenville Masonic Hall that caused significant damage and left the cause undetermined.


On December 15, 2025, at approximately 1:07 a.m., the Greenville Fire Department responded to a reported fire at the Greenville Masonic Hall, located at 281 Pritham Avenue in Greenville. The Greenville Fire Department and mutual aid fire departments arrived to find heavy fire conditions, according to the release.


Once the fire was suppressed and the scene was stabilized, investigators from the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office were requested to assist.


Investigators determined the fire originated in the basement kitchen area of the structure. Due to the extent of fire damage, officials said the specific ignition source and cause could not be identified, and the fire remains classified as undetermined.


Based on the available information, officials stated there is no evidence indicating the fire was the result of an intentional act.
