WOOLWICH, Maine — On Sunday at 6:09 p.m., the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on U.S. Route 1 near the southern entrance to Weston Road.

A 2018 Ford F-150 crossed the centerline and collided with a 2007 Toyota 4Runner. The pickup then left the roadway. The Toyota spun and came to rest in the southbound breakdown lane with extensive damage.

The Toyota was operated by Deborah Webster, 71, of Round Pond, Maine. She sustained serious injuries, was extricated, and was transported by Life Flight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The Ford was operated by Porter Sickels, 33, of Biddeford. He sustained minor injuries, was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick and released. He was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Operating Under the Influence with Serious Bodily Injury, a felony. He is being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail on $10,000 cash bail and will be arraigned later this week.

Sagadahoc County Sergeant Matt Sharpe is investigating, with crash reconstruction by members of the Sheriff’s Office. Woolwich Fire/Rescue and Mid Coast Hospital MC-1 provided emergency medical services, and Bath Police assisted.
