Injured Hiker Assisted on Mt. Monadnock’s Dublin Trail

Responders assisted a 79-year-old Peterborough woman off Mt. Monadnock’s Dublin Trail on Tuesday after a fall left her with multiple injuries, leading to a coordinated multi-agency response and a safe walk-out to the trailhead.
According to the release, at approximately 1:13 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified by State Police Dispatch of an injured hiker on the Dublin Trail near Old Troy Road in Dublin. The hiker, identified as Mary Cornog, 79, of Peterborough, was hiking solo when she fell and sustained multiple injuries.
Medical personnel from Peterborough ambulance, the Dublin and Jaffrey Fire Departments, and the Dublin police chief, along with Conservation Officers, responded to the trail. After receiving medical attention, Cornog was able to walk under her own power with assistance to the Old Troy Road trailhead, arriving at approximately 2:10 p.m. She was transported by Peterborough Fire and Rescue ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough for further evaluation and treatment. The release notes she was prepared for a day’s hike and has many years of experience on the mountain.
