YARMOUTH — At 6:47 p.m., Yarmouth Engines 81 and 82 were dispatched to Hawthorne Circle for a reported car fire not near any structures.
Upon arrival, Lieutenant 820 found a vehicle within two feet of a residence and reported a working vehicle fire encroaching on the garage. Additional resources were requested, including Tower 84, Tank 83, and Falmouth Engine 4. Mutual-aid station coverage was requested from North Yarmouth and Freeport.

Freeport was unable to provide coverage due to calls in their community, and Yarmouth was unable to staff Engine 82 and Tank 83.

Crews made a quick attack that limited damage to the residence. The vehicle is a total loss. The cause is not considered suspicious and appears related to equipment failure in the engine compartment.
No injuries were reported. Crews cleared the scene in just over an hour. The department thanked mutual-aid partners for their continued support.
