AUBURN, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and Auburn Police arrested three people on aggravated drug trafficking charges following a search at 257 Turner St. (1R) on December 1, 2025. Agents say the arrests cap a year-long investigation into a trafficking operation identified through tips and partner-agency intelligence.

According to MDEA, the Maine State Police Tactical Team executed the warrant at about 6:30 p.m. Akil Charles, 31, of Brockton, Massachusetts, was taken into custody while attempting to flee out a window, and Brianna Reny, 26, of Auburn, was detained without incident. Earlier that day, agents stopped a vehicle leaving the address; the driver, William Tardiff, 57, of New Gloucester, was arrested after approximately 179 grams of suspected cocaine were found in his possession.

A search of the apartment resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,244 grams of cocaine, 540 grams of fentanyl, 53 grams of methamphetamine, and about $18,200 in suspected drug proceeds, along with other items consistent with trafficking. MDEA estimated the street value of the seized drugs at $75,000.

Reny is charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled “W” Drugs and Trafficking in Scheduled “W” Drugs and is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. Charles faces the same charges and is being held without bail as he was out on bail for robbery. Tardiff is charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled “W” Drugs and is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail pending an initial appearance. The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
