A two-vehicle crash on Sherburne Road near Waterside Drive during the evening commute sent two drivers to area hospitals and disrupted traffic for about two hours.
According to the release, at 5:31 p.m., Pelham Police and Fire responded and found a silver 2004 Ford Mustang and a blue 2016 Mercedes SUV with heavy damage. The Mustang’s driver, Normand Mercier, 60, of Pelham, sustained multiple serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lowell General Hospital. The Mercedes’ driver, Lillian McLendon, 62, of Nashua, sustained an arm injury and was transported to Southern NH Medical Center.
The initial investigation determined the Mustang was traveling eastbound, crossed the centerline into the westbound lane, and, while sideways, its passenger door struck the front center of the westbound Mercedes. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
