Two Separate Crashes Reported in Wolfeboro; Four Transported, Minor Injuries in Earlier Collision

WOLFEBORO, N.H. — Wolfeboro Police and Fire/Rescue responded to two unrelated motor vehicle collisions on Thursday.
At 7:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to a two-car crash near 633 South Main Street. Police say a Hyundai Kona traveling north crossed the double yellow line and struck a Ford Escape in the opposing lane, causing the Escape to leave the roadway. The road was briefly shut down and both vehicles were towed. Injuries were reported; police noted they did not appear to be major. The collision remains under investigation.
At 11:48 a.m., officers responded to a head-on crash just north of Kingswood Regional High School on South Main Street. According to police, a Cadillac CTS traveling north crossed into the opposite lane and struck a southbound GMC Sierra head-on. Four patients were transported to Huggins Hospital, and both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. South Main Street was closed for about 45 minutes during the response and investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Police said the two collisions were not related and occurred a short distance apart. Neither speed nor impairment by alcohol and/or drugs were contributory in either crash, according to the department.
