WRONG-WAY DRIVER ARRESTED IN CANDIA

CANDIA, N.H. – A Manchester woman was arrested on multiple charges after driving the wrong way on Route 101 early Saturday.
At 3:22 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, State Police dispatch received reports of a wrong-way vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Route 101 in Raymond. Troopers from Troop A and Troop B responded.
Troopers located the vehicle, a silver 2009 Honda Civic, traveling westbound in the eastbound high-speed lane in Candia. The vehicle was safely stopped in the area of mile marker 64.6.
The driver was identified as Savannah Leigh McClaughry-Bertelsen, 18, of Manchester.
McClaughry-Bertelsen was arrested and charged with:
Reckless conduct
Aggravated DUI
DUI
Reckless operation
Open container of alcohol
Transportation of alcoholic beverages by a minor
She was held in protective custody at the Rockingham County Jail and later released on personal recognizance bail. McClaughry-Bertelsen is scheduled to be arraigned in Candia District Court on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
Route 101 eastbound was briefly closed during the investigation.
