21-Year-Old Dies in Single-Motorcycle Crash on Vigue Road in Whitefield

A 21-year-old Whitefield man died Sunday morning after his motorcycle left the roadway on Vigue Road near the Windsor line and struck trees.

According to the release, at 10:52 a.m. responders from Whitefield Rescue and Fire, Windsor Fire, Delta Ambulance, and Sheriff’s Deputies went to the scene of a single-vehicle crash. The motorcycle, a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250, had been traveling north when it went off the northbound shoulder and hit trees. The operator, who was the sole occupant and was wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed and driver inexperience appear to be contributing factors. The operator’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Vigue Road was closed until approximately 1:30 p.m. The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Scott Hayden is the primary investigator.
