Austen Cooper Extradited to New Hampshire After Failing to Appear on Arson and Infernal Machine Charges

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.H. — Austen Cooper was extradited back to New Hampshire on December 18, 2025, after authorities said he failed to appear in Rockingham Superior Court on multiple felony charges and was later located in Indiana.


According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Warrants Division was tasked on November 13, 2025, with locating and arresting Cooper after he failed to appear in Rockingham Superior Court for three counts of Arson (Felony B) and two counts of Possession of Infernal Machine (Felony A).


Officials said information was developed indicating Cooper fled New Hampshire and was residing in Indiana. With assistance from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana, Cooper was taken safely into custody.


On December 18, 2025, Cooper was extradited from Indiana to New Hampshire and booked into the Rockingham County Jail. The sheriff’s office said he remains held on preventative detention.


The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Martin County, Indiana Sheriff’s Office, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office - NH for assistance in the matter.
