Firefighters Discover Item in Debris

The Waterboro Fire Department responded to the area of 62 Meadowbrook Drive at approximately 8:00 p.m. Monday for a small wildland fire.

During the response, firefighters discovered what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail in the debris.

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office was notified, and fire investigators responded along with Rangers from the Maine Forest Service.

Juvenile Identified

During the investigation, authorities identified a 17-year-old juvenile as being responsible for the fire.

Officials said the juvenile and the juvenile’s parents are cooperating with investigators.

The York County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation.
