Brunswick Police: Driver Charged After Fatal Crash Involving Bicyclist on Old Bath Road

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Brunswick Police Department reports a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist late Monday night in the area of Old Bath Road by the U.S. Route 1 overpass.


According to a department media release, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on October 27, 2025, Brunswick Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist. The bicyclist was identified as Silas Octavi Esquivel Perez, 23, of Brunswick. Perez was pronounced deceased on the scene by Brunswick Rescue.


Police identified the operator of the vehicle as Lance Lucas-Wallace, 41, of Brunswick. The department states that Lucas-Wallace initially left the scene and later returned. He was taken into custody and charged as follows:


  • Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident (Aggravated) — Class C

  • Manslaughter — Class A

  • Operating Under the Influence (OUI) Involving Death — Class B



The release notes that bail was set at $100,000 cash. Lucas-Wallace was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and issued a court date of December 16, 2025, in Cumberland County Superior Court.
