Crystal Man Charged With Arson Following Mobile Home Fire

A Crystal man has been arrested and charged with arson and aggravated criminal mischief following an investigation into a mobile home fire earlier last week, according to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Walker Craig, 25, of Crystal, is accused of attempting to burn down a mobile home he had been renting.

Fire Marshal Investigates Mobile Home Fire

State Fire Marshal investigators responded to 713 Crystal Road during the early morning hours of August 25 at the request of the Patten Fire Department.

The fire department had been investigating a small fire at a mobile home.

According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, its subsequent investigation determined that Craig allegedly attempted to burn down the mobile home he had been renting.

Arrest Warrant Issued

Following the investigation and consultation with the Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued charging Craig with Arson and Aggravated Criminal Mischief.

Houlton Police arrested Craig on Friday, August 28.

Craig was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where the State Fire Marshal’s Office said he remains in custody. His bail was set at $10,000 cash.

All charges are allegations. Craig is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
