Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Tactical Response and Arrest in Livermore

LIVERMORE, Maine — The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office reports that a domestic disturbance at 9 Newman Road on October 16, 2025, led to an overnight tactical operation and an arrest on multiple charges.


According to the release, dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 10:45 p.m. A female victim reported that an argument had escalated into a physical altercation. As she attempted to leave the residence, the male suspect allegedly shut off power to the home and then fired three rounds outside after exiting the residence.


Deputies responded to the scene and attempted to make contact with the suspect. Those attempts were unsuccessful. Given the severity of the situation and the potential threat to public safety, the Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Maine State Police Tactical Team.


Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant in connection with the incident. At approximately 5:55 a.m., the tactical team took the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect is identified as David A. Newman, 32, of 9 Newman Road, Livermore.


The Sheriff’s Office lists the following charges:


  • Domestic Violence Assault — Class D

  • Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening with a Firearm — Class C

  • Domestic Violence Reckless Conduct with a Firearm — Class C



Following the arrest, David A. Newman was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he is being held without bail. The release states that the investigation remains ongoing.
