CUMBERLAND, Maine — The Cumberland Fire Department says a driver was extricated Thursday after a vehicle went over an embankment near Tuttle Road and Bunker Way.
According to officials, fire and police units were dispatched to the area for a report that a vehicle had gone over a small bank and the operator was unable to get out. Responders arrived to find a single vehicle positioned backward over the embankment with one occupant inside.

Thick brush around the vehicle limited access. Crews cut a path through the vegetation, reached the operator, and performed an extrication. The individual was brought up to the roadway using a rescue rope system and moved to an ambulance. No additional details about the operator’s condition were released.
Tuttle Road was completely closed for approximately 40 minutes during the rescue operation and has since reopened to normal traffic.
The incident response involved the Cumberland Fire Department and the Cumberland, Maine Police Department. No further information was provided.
