Fairfield Firefighters Knock Down Overnight Blaze Near Industrial Road

FAIRFIELD, Maine — Around 3:00 a.m., Fairfield-Benton Emergency Services was dispatched for a reported fire near Industrial Road. As crews responded, they could see a glow from Western Avenue, and mutual aid was requested immediately.
On arrival, firefighters found two large piles fully involved. Master streams were established to knock down the flames and protect nearby areas. Crews remained on scene for several hours for overhaul.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by Clinton, Skowhegan, Winslow, Waterville, and Oakland.
