Fatal Topsham Crash: Police Release Names, Seek Witnesses

Topsham Police have identified those involved in Saturday night’s fatal crash at Route 196 and By-Pass Drive and are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.

According to the update, the crash occurred on October 4, 2025, at 10:38 p.m. The driver of a 2020 GMC pickup is identified as Joseph Lemont, 34, of Bowdoin. The driver of a 2019 Volvo SUV is identified as Lacey Wiles, 25, of Hermon. The Volvo’s passenger, Marcus Steinman, 23, of Topsham, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Lemont and Wiles remain at Maine Medical Center being treated for injuries. No further updates on their medical conditions are available at this time. The investigation remains active.
