Fire Marshal Investigating Intentionally Set Fire at Vacant Home in Phillips

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a building fire in Phillips that officials say was intentionally set.
According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Phillips Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 12:51 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, to a reported building fire at 83 Dodge Road. Firefighters arrived to find the vacant home heavily involved in fire.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. Fire Marshal investigators determined the fire was incendiary in nature.
Investigators are asking residents in the surrounding area who may have security or surveillance cameras to review their footage for any activity that may be relevant to the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 207-624-7076.
