A passerby’s report of a suspicious person near Route 125 and Follybrook Terrace led to a foot pursuit and a prolonged struggle on Friday, September 12, ending with officers gaining control of the suspect and issuing a court summons.

According to the release, Sgt. Peltier approached the man in a casual manner, at which point he fled southbound on Route 125. After Sgt. Peltier returned to his cruiser and pursued, the suspect became verbally and physically aggressive, striking the cruiser window several times before running northbound into traffic.

Officer Worcester arrived to assist. During efforts to gain control, the suspect attempted to flee and disregarded repeated lawful commands. Officer Worcester deployed a taser, made contact, and, after continued active resistance, deployed it a second time. Officers ultimately brought the suspect under control and secured him in handcuffs.

The suspect was identified as 43-year-old John Zengilowski of Wilmington, Massachusetts. He admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and cocaine and was also experiencing other medical issues. He was transported to Exeter Hospital for evaluation, where he remained combative and was placed in a spit mask by hospital staff. He was issued a summons to appear in court on November 18, 2025, on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
