Littleton Police say a man was taken into custody early Wednesday after he fled a traffic stop and jumped from the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
According to the Littleton Police Department, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 2:15 a.m. on January 21, 2026, on Cottage Street on the Veterans Memorial Bridge. During the stop, a male passenger was asked to exit the vehicle and questioned about his identity. Police said the man initially provided a false name, but officers recognized him and knew he had active warrants.
Police identified the man as Cody Curtis, 35, last known address Lisbon, New Hampshire. Curtis was wanted out of Grafton County Superior Court on a no-bail warrant for alleged violations of New Hampshire RSA 318-B:2, police said.
When officers informed Curtis he was under arrest, police said he ran and jumped from the bridge. Curtis fell approximately 35 feet and landed on an embankment on the south side of the Ammonoosuc River. He was then taken into custody, according to the release.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Curtis was charged with Resisting Arrest or Detention and Breach of Bail Conditions. Littleton Fire Rescue responded to provide medical aid, and Curtis was transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare for evaluation due to injuries sustained in the fall.
Curtis is expected to be arraigned later today. No further information was released.
