Police Investigate Skyway Drive Crash in Portland; One Seriously Injured

Portland Police are investigating a Thursday morning crash on Skyway Drive involving a car and a tractor-trailer that left a Westbrook woman with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the release, at 8:47 a.m., a 38-year-old female from Westbrook was traveling toward Congress Street when her car struck the rear of a tractor-trailer moving in the same direction.

She was transported to Maine Medical Center. Speed and wet roads are believed to have been factors. No charges have been filed at this time.

Skyway Drive was closed for about four hours during the response and investigation. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to call 207-874-8532 or 207-874-8575.
