Search Continues on Peaks Island for Missing Resident Wiley Davi; Public Asked to Avoid Trails and Check Outbuildings

PEAKS ISLAND, Maine — Maine Game Wardens, Maine Marine Patrol, and the Portland Police Department are continuing coordinated search efforts on Peaks Island for Wiley Davi, 57, of Peaks Island. Davi is described as 5’7”, 155 pounds, with gray hair. Clothing is unknown. Davi was last known to be on Peaks Island on Saturday evening, November 15.
Search operations are focused both on land and along the shoreline. The Maine Warden Service is concentrating efforts on trails and wooded areas of the island, while the Maine Marine Patrol is searching the surrounding waters. Authorities ask residents and visitors to stay off the walking trails today to avoid interfering with search teams and K9 operations.
Residents are encouraged to check any sheds, garages, or other outbuildings on their property for any sign of Davi. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation or who may have seen Davi since Saturday evening is asked to call Portland Police at 207-874-8479.
Additional support for the search has come from Maine Search and Rescue Dogs (MESARD), the Maine Association for Search and Rescue (MASAR), the Portland Fire Department, the Brunswick Police Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard. These assisting agencies have provided personnel and resources to expand coverage over land and water as conditions and assignments require.
Officials have not released further details about potential sightings or the specific areas already cleared. The search remains active and ongoing. Updates will be provided by authorities as new information becomes available.
